We've made a lot of "cut" styli over the years. Clients request them when additional clearance is needed to measure certain features, for example, an ID near the end of a cylindrical bore. This is a 10 mm ruby ball from which 2mm was cut. We can cut any amount needed from any size ball, 1 mm or larger. They are cut using a special diamond coated grinding wheel. We usually ship your custom "cut" ruby ball stylus the same day it's ordered.
